For those traveling in Humboldt County, the Avenue of the Giants, or Route 254 near the 101 junction north of Weott, is open again. It was closed last night due to slide.

It is cold and rainy in Mendocino County today, onshore and off. Precipitation amounts in all four incorporated areas could be up to an inch. There is a small craft advisory at sea today, with high winds on the coast until the evening.
According to the National Weather Service:
In Point Arena, rain is expected most of the day. The is around 57, dropping to 49 tonight. High south southeast winds in the morning, 15 to 20 miles per hour, subsiding to 6 to 11 miles per hour after noon. Gust could be up to 29 miles per hour. There is a 30% chance of showers in the evening, with light and variable winds.
In Fort Bragg, rain is also expected most of the day, with the chance of showers dropping to 40% in the evening. The high could be around 57, going down to 45 tonight. High south southeast winds in the morning, between 12 and 17 miles per hour, subsiding to 5 to 10 miles per hour in the afternoon.
In Willits, heavy rain is in the forecast. The south southeast winds are expected to be between 5 and 14 miles per hour. The temperatures will vary between a high of 54 and a low tonight of 41. Chance of showers in the evening drops to 50%.
In Ukiah, rain most of the day, with chance of further showers dropping to 50% tonight. The southeast wind could gust up to 20 miles per hour, but is likely to stay between 5 and 15 miles per hour. The high is around 57, dropping to 43 tonight.
