Synopsis: On 11-28-2016 at approximately 6:15 P.M. Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Barnes Lane, in Covelo, regarding a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival Deputies learned that the female adult victim (whom was involved in a dating relationship with the suspect) and S-Dakota Kaseem Gonzales-Bettega got into an argument as they were traveling in a vehicle on Barnes Lane in Covelo. At some point during the argument S-Gonzales-Bettega stopped the vehicle he was driving and threatened to assault the female victim. He then got out of the vehicle and demanded that the female adult get out of the vehicle as well. When the female refused to get out of the car, S-Gonzales-Bettega struck her several times, on the back of her head, with an open hand.
S-Gonzales-Bettega was placed under arrest for Domestic Violence charges and for an outstanding arrest warrant. He was transported to the Mendocino County jail where he was held on $27,500 bail.
The adult female victim in this incident suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
