MENDOCINO Co. 2/27/2017 –UPDATE 11:15am: The southbound ramp onto the Willits bypass from Hwy 20 is experiencing intermittent closures due to slide damage at the rock slope. Motorists should expect five to ten-minute delays.
Orr Springs Road is expected to be closed for another 10-14 days, as the Mendocino County Department of Transportation installs a Bailey Bridge across the sinkhole 5 miles west of Ukiah. The Bailey Bridge is a small prefabricated structure that was in heavy use by the British during World War II. It can be assembled by hand, without heavy equipment. No pedestrian traffic will be allowed in the work zone.
There was a rollover at mile marker 38 on Hwy 101, north of Redwood Valley, shortly before 6am. The incident involved a single subject. An ambulance was expected to arrive a little after 7am.
Drainage work on Rt 162 at The Middle Way is scheduled to last until June 1. The eastbound lane of 162 remains closed at mile marker 23 due to emergency work.
