MENDOCINO Co. 3/27/2017 — A vehicle went off the road at State Rout 20/Potter Valley Road last night, according to CHP. It is about 80 feet down the embankment, and is almost completely submerged. A tow truck is scheduled to remove the vehicle this morning. CHP reported minor injuries.
The two slides on Route 1 at Leggett have now been differentiated as “the near slide,” at mile marker 104, and “the far slide,” at mile marker 103. Neither site appears ready to welcome motorists just yet. The near slide is still active, and the road underneath the far slide is beginning to sink.
There is some chance of showers in Mendocino county today, both onshore and off.
There is a small craft advisory in effect from 3pm today through 9am Wednesday. The northwest winds at sea are 5 to 15 knots, with waves west 9 feet at 14 seconds.
Today, in Point Arena, there is a 30% chance of showers in the morning, then mostly sunny, with a high near 59 and a low tonight near 47 tonight.
