The Celebrating Families Cancer Support Project 5k/10k Walk Run is an annual event established by Potter Valley Youth and Community Center to benefit residents of the Potter Valley Community who are undergoing cancer treatment. The annual event, which began in 2008, is a time for friends, family and the community to come together in celebration and support of families struggling with the illness. It is also a time to reflect and celebrate the memory of those lost. The public is invited to honor and support all benefit recipients on Sunday, April 23rd.
Registration is $20.00 and begins at 8am in front of the Fire Department (10521 Main Street, Potter Valley); your registration fee includes an event t-shirt and breakfast. Children 10 and under run for free. A children’s size t-shirt can be purchased for $10. The race will start at 9am sharp! Not a runner? There is a pancake breakfast at 10am for $5.00. ALL proceeds from the event go to support the beneficiaries.
The event organizers would like to thank the Community Foundation of Mendocino County- Foster Fund- for the generous donation of funds for the beneficiaries of this event as well as help with the purchase of the t-shirts.
Since 2008, we have honored 30 community members at this event. We hope to see you here this year to celebrate families and the healing power of community. Please go to www.pvycc.org or call 707-743-1789 for more information.
