Roads and weather, April 20, work on 101 interrupted due to active slide

Light winds and mild temperatures around the county today.

MENDOCINO Co., Work on the 101 slide just north of Leggett came to a halt early yesterday because the slide is still active. Here is CalTrans’ update, from 6:30 last night:

Mendocinosportsplus reports another accident on Bell Springs Road, around 10pm last night.

There was a slide on Route 162/Dos Rios Road, as of 5:23am. It appears to have been cleared.

The traffic signals at the one-way traffic control on Route 175 from Buckman Drive to a private road are defective.

There may be one-way traffic control on Route 20 again today, from Cropley Lane to Main Street in Willits, due to paving and grinding.

Light winds and mild temperatures today:

A weak cold front is coming in at sea this weekend. Northwest winds are 5 to 15 knots, expected to shift to the north but blow steadily at 5 to 15. Waves are west 10 feet at 14 seconds, expected to subside slightly to west 9 feet at 13 seconds.

In Point Arena, the forecast is mostly sunny, with a high around 59, dropping to 49 tonight. The north wind is expected to blow 9 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 21 miles per hour. Winds will persist into the night.
In Fort Bragg, the forecast is mostly sunny, with a high around 62, dropping to 44 tonight. A light north northwest wind will turn northwest this morning, and blow around 5 to 10 miles per hour into the night.
In Willits, the forecast is mostly sunny, with a high around 63, dropping to 41 tonight. A west northwest wind of 5 to 10 miles per hour will persist into the night.
In Ukiah, the forecast is mostly sunny, with a high around 67, dropping to 43 tonight. A west northwest wind will blow 5 to 9 miles per hour in the morning, then lighten and turn north this evening.
