WILLITS, CA — We know you admire our writing. But here at the Mendocino Voice, we’ve got a dirty secret — we’ve all got funny voices. Don’t believe us? Well now we have a radio show so you can find out.
You can catch us every Friday evening at 6pm on 97.9 FM, on KLLG, Willits’ new low-power community radio station. We’ll give you the weekly round-up of news, plus additional interviews, analysis, and audio clips from the week. We’re hoping to expand to other community radio stations around the county, so stay tuned for those details. And if you want to be able to stream our show and all of KLLG live on the internet, donate to help get them connected!
Listen to our first two episodes below, and check us out every Friday on the air! Plus we’ll be posting the episodes at mendovoice.com in case you missed it.
Episode 1: May 5: We talk about the new equipment for Mendo’s SWAT team, the Highway 101 landslide with Caltrans Public Information Officer Eli Rohl, and about the county’s new cannabis cultivation permits, including an interview with Will Porter of Rusty Shovel Ranch, who is a local farmer going through the licensing process.
Episode 2: May 12: We talk about the new District 3 supervisor, zoning and planning, fire safety, Willits crime, children’s mental health services, and more.
