MENDOCINO Co., — There was a hit-and-run shortly before 7am this morning in Redwood Valley, at N Road near West Road, across from the Rancheria. Some garbage cans were struck, and there is unknown damage to a vehicle. No injuries were reported.
The Moore Street onramp in Calpella to northbound Route 101 is closed. The connector ramp from from northbound Route 101 to eastbound Route 20 is also closed, due to roadwork. Motorists on Route 20 yesterday reported delays of up to half an hour.
There is one-way traffic on Route 1 from Kinney Road to Elk Creek, due to grinding and paving.
AT&T has a tree trimming permit along Route 253 this week from Butler Ranch to State Street, which will result in one-way traffic until the work is done. There is also road work being done on 253 from Boonville to Ukiah.
It’s starting to creep into the 90’s in inland Mendocino:
Light to moderate northerly winds at sea today, though gale force winds are expected this weekend. THere is a small craft advisory in effect through this afternoon. Today, the northwest winds are expected to blow 5 to 15 knots into the night. Waves are north 5 feet at 7 seconds and northwest 4 feet at 15 seconds. Patchy drizzle is expected into the night.
In Point Arena, the forecast is patchy fog before 8am, then mostly sunny. The high is expected to be 63, dropping to 52 tonight. A northwest wind is expected to blow 11 miles per hour and shift to the north northwest tonight.
In Fort Bragg, the forecast is patchy fog before 9am, then mostly sunny, with a high around 70, dropping to 50 tonight. A light west northwest wind is expected to blow 3 to 7 miles per hour into the night.
