WILLITS, CA, 8/15/17 — This week on our news radio show, we celebrate our tenth episode with two special guests: reporter Sarah Reith, and Willits resident Cheryl Abney, both of who talk about some controversial issues happening around the county. Reith discusses an appeal filed against the Ukiah Costco project by Ukiah City Councilmember Steve Scalamini, which could delay construction, and Abney talks about how Willits trailer park residents are organizing an ongoing fight against rent raises by an out-of-county landlord. We also cover a recent homicide in Navarro, the proposed changes to the county’s cannabis farming permit program discussed at this week’s Board of Supervisors’ meeting, and the news that Third District Supervisor Croskey won’t run for re-election next year.
