MENDOCINO Co., 5/21/18 — Today is the deadline to register to vote in the June 5 California primary. Luckily, for all you procrastinators out there, the State of California makes it super easy to register online, here. It only takes a couple minutes, and there are a bunch of language options. Unless you have changed your name, party preference, or address, you don’t need to re-register to vote, and registering for this election will keep you registered in the future.

However if you all you online people (which you have to be to be reading this website) have friends and family who prefer to do things via snail-mail, today is the last day that a mail in registration can be postmarked. You can also register at the county’s offices, or city halls.
Here is the state’s official voter requirement website. To register you must be a US citizen and 18 years old on election day. Teenagers under 18 can register to vote in this election if they will be 18 on election day. To register to vote in Mendocino County you must live here. If you live here as of the last day to register to vote (today) you meet the residency requirement.
People in county jail on misdemeanor charges are eligible to vote, as are convicted felons who have finished their sentence and parole. If you were convicted of a felony, but have finished your parole, your right to vote is restored.
