MENDOCINO Co.. 6/21/18 — CalFire will conduct a controlled burn at the Coyote Valley Dam at Lake Mendocino today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Smoke will likely be visible around the Ukiah, Calpella, and Redwood Valley areas. The burn was rescheduled from last Friday evening.
Coyote Valley Dam and the fish hatchery area will be closed to the public and the safety of firefighters and residents will be prioritized. The burn will be conducted to clear vegetation from the face of the dam in preparation for an upcoming inspection.
