UPDATE 9/6/18 — A suspect has turned himself in. Here are the details:

WILLITS, 9/5/18 — One person was shot and seriously injured at the Patriot Gas station on the north end of Willits last night. Chief Scott Warnock, of the Willits Police Department, confirmed that the WPD is investigating the shooting, and though there is no suspect currently in custody. He added that a Mendocino County resident is the primary suspect.
Currently the incident is being investigated as an attempted homicide. According to Captain Greg Van Patten, of the Mendocino County Sheriffs Office, the WPD is being assisted in the investigation by the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office, with some assistance from the MCSO.

Gabe Smith is a terrible human being and has a long violent record. He is a serious piece of garbage and this makes Tom Alman look really bad for knowing him. So if your a friend of Tom Alman and have a violent past you only get attempted murder charges when he should have way more charges then that. They should throw the book at this guy.
I have known Gabe my whole life, he is not a violent human being in any form at all, ever. He is a loving father and a person of impeccable character, who loves his family and his friends dearly.

I remember when Gabe used to brag about all the girls he had sex with all over california and how he meat clevered someone, beat a guy in laytonville with a maglight…..i think he got arrested for that, he drove around with duck tape and gloves, he beat his girl friends up and I personally seen him get into like 10 bar fights so anyone defending this garbage is probably garbage too.

Maybe this will send a strong message to folks who think they can just attack people : some people are armed and ready to defend themselves. Wow, just heard about this earlier tonight. I cant tell you how many times I heard of Gabe beating up his baby mama’s, starting fights, always talking about how tuff he is……why couldnt he just fight like a real man……because he has never been one thats why. I have known Gabe since we were babies and he isn’t violent man he’s a very good man he’s my brother and he’s a very gentle and generous man he’s a very good father and a family man but if someone was threatening him or his family or kids he will protect them and he will do any type of self defense to protect
