MENDOCINO Co., 10/1/18 — A contractor working for the United States Forest Service on fire suppression repair work was killed in a car crash. The worker’s vehicle was discovered on Saturday in the Mendocino National Forest, but the worker’s name has no yet been released.

WILLOWS, Calif. — A vehicle accident was discovered on the Ranch Fire near County Road 308 and Forest Road 20N01 around 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29. The accident involved a contractor assigned to fire suppression repair work on the Mendocino National Forest. The driver died in the accident. The name of the driver is not being released at this time. No other details are available. The cause of the accident is being reviewed.
