VLY BE AVOIDED DUE TO SEMI-TRK ACCIDENT IN
PROCESS OF BEING RECOVERED.
ORIGINAL
MENDOCINO Co., 10/8/18 — A water tanker overturned on West Rd. in Redwood Valley, trapping the driver and causing a small diesel spill. The driver was extricated, and apparently airlifted to a hospital, and environmental health is responding to the scene to clean up the diesel and oil spill. The accident occurred in the 10700 block of West Rd. and was apparently a single vehicle accident, with the water tanker striking a fence.
As of 11:30 p.m. a tow truck has been called and may be on the scene.
Rode past this on my bike. Looked like part of a big old oak tree got knocked down in the process. It happened on a stretch of road where the edge of the pavement is right next to a drainage ditch. County road commission needs to do something about that.
thanks for the eyes on the scene report!
His tire blew out, that’s what caused it. He had to get his spleen removed and had broken ribs.
