MENDOCINO Co., 11/29/18 — The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office will hold a press conference to discuss the search for Khadijah Britton at the Mendocino Superior Courthouse on December 6, at 2 p.m.. The press conference will take place on the steps of the courthouse (weather permitting), and will consist of an update on the disappearance of Britton, the Covelo woman who has been missing since February 7 of this year, according to MCSO’s Lt. Shannon Barney. A representative, or agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), are also expected be present.
The Mendocino Voice plans to livestream the event on Facebook, and later post a video of the conference on this website.
Britton was last seen by witnesses at a residence in Covelo on February 7, allegedly being forced into a vehicle at gunpoint by her former boyfriend Negie Fallis, and has not been seen since. Community members have conducted several searches, held vigils, and hung banners and flyers around Northern California to bring attention to her disappearance. The Round Valley Indian Tribes Council has also called for people to come forward who may have information about her case.
As of the time of publication, no charges have been brought related to her disappearance. However, Fallis and his current girlfriend, Antonia Bautista-Dawson, are currently set to be sentenced at the Mendocino Superior Courthouse after accepting plea deals related to Fallis’ illegal possession of a firearm, on Dec. 4th and 11th respectively.
An $85,000 reward is being offered for any information that helps locate her, and the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate her case. Anyone with information about Britton should contact the MCSO tip line at (707) 463- 4086 or the tip line (707) 234-2100.
