WILLITS, 11/6/18 — A small wildfire has broken out near the intersection of Spyrock Rd. and Registered Guest Rd. The fire is burning about 7 miles from Hwy. 101 up Spyrock Rd. in northern Mendocino County. Cal Fire air tankers and other firefighters from a few other departments have responded. As of about 3:10 p.m. the Cal Fire was stating that the fire was only at about a quarter acre. The fire is being called the “Registered Incident.”
Based on scanner chatter we understand the following: The initial fire has spotted with two smaller fires. The first fire appears to have a slow rate of spread, and the smaller spot is only about 200ft. by 200ft. with a very small potential for growth. A private bulldozer is working on the smaller spot.
We will continue to update.
