The Round Valley Public library is hosting a series of workshops in March to provide valuable information and a simple demonstration of skills and techniques people can use to be more prepared for wildfire this season. The workshops will be hands-on and free.
Library staff will be operating a table at the Round Valley Library Commons farmers market on Friday, March 15th from 12-1 p.m. to promote the workshops, and to present a short demonstration featuring the NIXLE and Everbridge Emergency Notification Systems used by the County of Mendocino.
The specific workshops are as follows:
Saturday, March 16th, 3-4 p.m.: Receive guidance on weed-eater tune ups and safe power tool use during fire season, hosted by Round Valley Indian Tribes Wildland Fire Prevention. Attendees will receive a new weed-eater line free of charge, brought to you by M&M Feed & Supply.
Saturday, March 23rd, 3-4 p.m.: Learn to assemble a go bag and plan for an emergency with Mike Carter, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) instructor. There will be free mini Maglites for the first 15 attendees.
