MENDOCINO Co., 6/7/19 — On June 8 the summer reading program will start at Mendocino County library branches, helping kids enjoy reading and earn rewards until the school year begins again. This year’s theme is “Universe of Stories,” in honor of the 50th anniversary of moon landing. There will be musical performances, special events, and more to celebrate the start of the program, including a “Party at the Plaza” in Ukiah featuring Flynn Creek Circus, and face-painting and prizes in Fort Bragg.

Universe of Stories
Mendocino County Library is pleased to announce the beginning of our Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme is Universe of Stories in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.
The Summer Reading Program is open to all ages: children, teens and adults. The purpose of the Summer Reading Program is to encourage literacy and prevent learning loss during the summer. Through programs and reading challenges, Mendocino County Library wants to encourage reading and promote literacy for all ages. Please stop by your local branch and pick up your reading log today.
Summer Reading sign-ups will start with kickoff celebrations in Ukiah, Willits and Fort Bragg on Saturday June 8th. All branches will host county-wide performers, along with various events and programs to celebrate Summer Reading.
