WILLITS, 7/30/19 — Cal Fire is conducting a training out of the Ukiah Airport, also known as the Ukiah Airbase, resulting in lots and lots of Cal Fire planes flying around Ukiah and over the Cow Mountain area — as well as landing and taking off. So expect to see planes, but don’t worry, it is likely not a large fire. There is currently no significant fire burning in the county, or neighboring areas, which the exception of the Usal Fire, which was reported to be at 50 percent containment this morning.
This is a routine training as part of Cal Fire maintaining preparedness, and is something that each individual Cal Fire station undertakes, today’s just happens to be more public since it’s up in the sky.
