MENDOCINO Co., 8/30/19 — Walk and Bike Mendocino will be hosting the second annual “Bike Bike Bash” this Friday, Sept. 20, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Ukiah. The event includes a slew of bike related activities and events. So for everyone one with two wheels and some gears (or three wheels or even one), come enjoy a day of biking.

North Coast Opportunities’ Walk & Bike Mendocino announces their
2nd Annual Big Bike Bash
Event Announcement:
Friday, September 20th
4pm-8pm at Alex Thomas Plaza
Ukiah, CA — August 29, 2019) Walk & Bike Mendocino will be hosting the 2nd Annual Big Bike Bash at Alex Thomas Plaza in Ukiah on Friday, September 20 from 4 to 8 PM. The Big Bike Bash is a celebration of bicycles with a focus on the joy of bicycling. This event is free and open to all. Food and beverages for both adults and children will be available.
Ride your bike and get free bike valet parking!!Activities will include:
Bicycle Quidditch (Polo Style Game) and Bike Track-Standoff (who can balance the longest!)
Helmet decorating for kids
People’s choice Bike Promenade – a variety of bicycles (racing bikes, specially modified bikes, tandems, mountain bikes, etc.) will be on display. Attendees will be encouraged to vote for their favorite bike.
Adult Drift Trike races – Drift trikes are “Big Wheels” that tend to slide sideways around corners. Participants can take a turn on the trikes. There will also be “Celebrity” trike races. Participants will be encouraged to soak the racers during the race!
Corn Hole, hula hoops and pedal powered smoothies
Information Booths (Safe Routes to Schools, Street Safety, Dave’s Bike Shop, Bicycle Kitchens, Ukiah Valley Trail Group)“Last year we had a great time despite really hot, smoky weather. This year we expect more people, more bikes and more fun. I’m particularly looking forward to the Harry Potter inspired bike quidditch game!” said Neil Davis, Walk & Bike Mendocino’s program director. “I hope everyone brings a bike so we can just plaster the area with wall to wall bikes!”
