WILLITS, 6/21/18 -- Chergery Teywoh Lew Mays, an 18 month old child, died Wednesday, after allegedly being left in a car by his mother for over 10 hours. The boy's mother, Alexandrea Raven Scott, 23 of Trinidad, has been arrested and booked on charges of willfully permitting a child to suffer great bodily injury or death, and being a "parent having care and custody of child allowing [the] child to suffer great bodily injury or death." She is being held without bail. The car was parked on Mitomkai Way, meaning the events occured on the eastern property of the Sherwood Rancheria. According to a press release issued by the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office, Scott and the Chergery Lew Mays were driven to the hospital on the night before his death, the baby was then driven back to a residence on Mitomakai Way, but left in the car, and when Scott returned the baby remained in the car. The child was left in the car with the windows rolled up for around 10 hours.
