The reduced plea deals came in response to new legislation signed by Governor Brown yesterday.
Uncertainty over a proposed bill could change the legal proceedings in the Settler homicide trial, now set to begin October 1.
At a standard procedural hearing to weigh whether enough evidence exists to proceed, three defendants pled down to robbery, in exchange for testimony.
All seven suspects appeared in court together for the first time on Monday. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for mid-August.
The seventh and final suspect in the killing of Jeffrey Settler has been apprehended in New Jersey. Mendocino County officials are traveling to NJ to begin the extradition process.
