MENDOCINO Co., 9/25/19 — A vehicle fire burning near the center of Potter Valley has thrown up a large plume of dark smoke. The fire was first reported around 2:50 p.m. and appears to be a small motorhome that caught fire. No structures appear to be threatened and the risk of spread into the nearby vegetation, or a wildfire, is minimal.

The California Highway Patrol lists the fire as being in or near the 9300 block of Main St. in Potter Valley.

Reports from people near the scene say that by 3:20 p.m. the fire was dying down or nearly controlled.
