MENDOCINO CO., 4/24/18 — Spring is in full effect across Mendocino County, and to celebrate, the University of California Hopland Research and Extension Center (HREC) will be holding a variety of educational events as part of two day NatureFest happening this weekend. There will be everything from educational workshops with local naturalists to musical performances, so grab the kids and head to Hopland for a weekend of outdoor fun.
The “bio-blitz” will celebrate all things nature and kick-off this Friday evening, with a locally-sourced dinner and a discussion of talk with the author of “After the Grizzly,” (last day to register is Tuesday, today). NatureFest continues on Saturday with workshops on birds, spiders, and scorpions preceding the “bio-blitz,” and followed-up by a performance with the Real Sarahs and Gwyneth Moreland.
