WILLITS 11/1/18 — Cal Fire is conducting a controlled burn near the top of the Ridgewood Summit, off of U.S. Route 101, just south of Willits. Smoke will likely be visible from Willits and even potential from Ukiah and neighboring communities. The prescribed burn is being conducted on Cal Fire’s own land at the Howard Station.
But don’t worry, this isn’t scary smoke, it’s the smoke that’s says: fuel loads are being reduced while weather conditions permit.
The burn will be occurring today between about 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
CalFire has been conducting a series of burns around the county, notably near Covelo and Dos Rios.
