UPDATE 1 p.m.: According to an update from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, Phyllis Doss has been located, and has been transported to the Mendocino Coast District Hospital for evaluation. Doss was located near the end of Mitchell Creek by a resident, and is reported to be extremely cold but alive. MCSO thanked everyone that shared information about the search to help locate Doss in a Facebook post.
MENDOCINO Co., 2/26/19 — The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Phyllis Doss, a Fort Bragg woman who was last seen on February 24, 2019. Doss is described as a 58 year old woman, with brown/grey hair, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. Anyone with information regarding Doss’ location should call the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office at 707-463-4086.
Doss was last seen in the vicinity of the 28000 block of Simpson Lane in Fort Bragg, heading out to go mushroom picking in the Jackson State Demonstration Forest. She was wearing a brown camouflage sweatshirt, blue jeans, and yellow work boots, according to the Sheriff’s Office. No photo is currently available, but this article will be updated when one is provided.
A search for Doss is currently underway by the Mendocino County Search and Rescue team. Here’s the announcement from the Sheriff’s Office on Facebook:
