WILLITS, 5/21/19 — Pacific Gas and Electric is conducting maintenance across Mendocino County, and as a result some places will see brief and isolate power outages over the coming days and weeks. However, a representative from PG&E stated late this afternoon that all planned outages for Wednesday, May 22, for addresses in Willits, have been cancelled — and that there will be no planned power outage tomorrow in Willits.
However, maintenance is planning in the Town of Mendocino and around 100 customers will lose power there on Thursday.
Several business in the Evergreen Shopping Center had previously received calls, saying that the would lose power tomorrow in a planned maintenance outage that PG&E says would have affected 142 customers, but again, a spokesperson has stated that this outage has been cancelled. The one exception is Grocery Outlet, which is apparently being provided with a generator to operate during the maintenance and will not close, and will be open during regular hours.
Additionally, there is an outage plan, for maintenance in the town of Mendocino, for Thursday, and about 100 customers will be affected there.
As of time of publication about 1000 people across northern Mendo, in Covelo, Dos Rios, Laytonville and Branscomb are without power, to do an unplanned power outage that PG&E is working to repair.
In addition some residents of Brooktrails have stated on social media that they received notice that they might lose power, tomorrow. PG&E could no definitively confirm whether the power will be lost, saying that generally those calls are valid, but that no outages are planned tomorrow for customers with a Willits address.
